First compiled in 1916, responsibility for the Yearbook has recently moved from the National Council of Churches in the USA (National Council of Churches) to the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies (ASARB). Since the members of ASARB are typically those who provide the Yearbook’s information, this group was identified and recognized as the logical sponsor as this important resource enters its second century.
ASARB members comprise the Yearbook’s steering committee, with continuing representation from the National Council of Churches. This allows a smooth transition to the on-line platform while retaining the essentials that has made this a valuable resource for decades.
See the ASARB website for more information about the organization.
