Description: The Church of God of the Firstborn was founded by Pentecostal evangelist
Adolph Gustav Etterman in 1936. Headquarters are located in Newton, KS,
where annual summer conferences are held. In 2002, the denomination
consisted of 26 congregations, located primarily in the south central
United States and in Mexico. In recent years, the number of Caucasian
churches has declined and Hispanic membership has surged. James
Etterman, the son of the founder, became president of the denomination
in 1986.
