Association of Independent Evangelical Lutheran Churches

The AIELC was established, as a response to the affiliation need of independent missions and churches originally of the Latino community in the USA and worldwide, which are commited to the learning and teaching of Lutheran Doctrine and Theology. We are a Lutheran denomination that provide support and guidance to independent missions and churches to be better prepared for the work in the Kingdom of God at the light of Lutheran understanding of Confessing Christ. As part of our affiliation process we don't ask independent missions and churches to surrender their buildings or administrative independency; nor do we require them to provide financial support to the main denomination itself.
Our current worlwide membership is estimated as approximately 35,000 members with Churches in Scotland, Channel Islands, India, South Africa, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Chile, Venezuela and the USA. We have active Concordat with religious bodies in the USA and abroad, among them the Evangelical Community Church-Lutheran, the Athanasian Catholic Church of the Augsburg Confession, and the Lutheran Orthodox Church. We hold active membership at the Queens Federation of Churches in New York.
