The Federation of Christian Ministries (FCM)is a national ecumenical and inter-faith community founded in 1968. FCM stresses inclusiveness, opening its membership to women, men, and groups of varying faith backgrounds and interests who share its vision of an ecumenical, nondenominational ministerial community. FCM commissions its ministers for work in many capacities: pastoring house churches, local faith communities, and congregations/parishes; officiating at weddings, funerals, and baptisms; serving as endorsed chaplains in nursing homes, correctional facilities, and hospitals; leading retreats, giving spiritual direction, and counseling; offering healing ministries; organizing initiatives dedicated to peace and justice. FCM is a meeting place for faith communities and service organizations following Christ's directive to serve. FCM is a member of the International Council of Community Churches and a faith group member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Its educational branch, Global Ministries University, offers online degrees (delete completion) on the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels for those seeking deeper levels of insight in the field of ministry.
